My journey began in the sun-drenched streets of Palermo, where my love for travel was sparked. While working in a local travel agency,
I quickly realised that the robotic, repetitive tasks of issuing tickets weren't for me. I wanted to meet people, discover new places, and experience the world first-hand - not just be stuck behind a desk.
This desire led me to make my first big move to the famous Ligurian coast in northern Italy. There, I started to see the world through the eyes of the tourists I met, listening to their stories and dreaming of their vibrant cities.
It was during this time that I made a pivotal decision: to visit a school friend in London. What was meant to be a short trip became a life-altering realization. The sheer scale and energy of London, a place buzzing with people from every corner of the globe, filled me with an incredible sense of possibility. It was clear - I had to be in a place where I could not only discover new things, but truly be part of a global community. My move to London wasn't just a change of address; it was a leap of faith into the unknown, a journey of self-discovery that would shape every aspect of my life and career.
The transition was not without its challenges. I had to learn a new city, navigate a different culture, and start from the bottom in a highly competitive industry. But every obstacle became a lesson in resilience.
I learned to adapt, to be resourceful, and to embrace the unexpected. This experience taught me that true growth happens when you step out of your comfort zone. It's in those moments of uncertainty that you find your greatest strengths.
The most valuable lesson, however, was about people. My time in London has allowed me to meet individuals from countless backgrounds, each with a unique perspective on the world. This exposure has been invaluable, shaping my negotiation skills, my strategic thinking, and my overall approach to business. It taught me that genuine connections and a collaborative spirit are the most powerful tools in any profession.
My career in the travel industry became a reflection of my personal journey, centered on building relationships and creating meaningful experiences.
Looking back, that move from Sicily to London was the best decision I ever made. It was the foundation of my career and the catalyst for my passion for mentorship. It taught me that travel isn't just about where you go, but about who you become along the way.
